The Venetian Golf & River Club

Written by Sheila on February 4th, 2010

Venetian Golf & River Club is a splendid masterpiece. Located on the beautiful Myakka River, Venetian Golf & River Club boasts a spectacular location for a romantic and stunning wedding.  The Venetian River Club has everything you, the Bride, needs to help make these significant decisions. Their experienced staff can help you plan your special day and ceremony. Their menu options range from an elegant cocktail fête to a stylish four course wine dinner, or anything in between. The River Club’s licensed massage therapists and esthetician can help melt away wedding stress, with a hot stone massage and a relaxing facial.  The Venetian River Club is conveniently located in lovely North Venice, Florida.  I am currently on the list of preferred vendors and photographers with the Venetian.  One of my favorite wedding venues.

Ringling Museum Weddings

A wedding party of your dreams

A wedding party of your dreams

We love the Ringling Museum for a wedding venue. The architecture, art, and beautiful grounds make for a spectacular setting.  For a wedding filled with charm, elegance, grace, the venues at Ringling Museum fulfill all your dreams.

A little history about the museum:

In 1925, Ringling commissioned the New York architect John Phillips to design a building befitting of his impressive art collection, a museum that would take its inspiration from the Renaissance and Baroque palaces and museums of Italy.  Construction began in 1928, and in October 1931, The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art was officially dedicated and opened to the public.

Today, the Museum of Art displays European, American, and Asian works of art in its permanent collection galleries.  The collection of Old Master paintings, highlighted by the Baroque period of the 17th century, is among the finest in the country.

Even if your not planning your wedding at the Ringling Museum, be sure to visit when you have a chance.  The museum is also an amazing place to take engagement or pre-wedding photographs.   Enjoy some photo’s from a recent wedding done on the grounds of the historic John and Mable Ringling Museum of art!

It’s All In The Details

Wedding in ProgressSarasota Wedding in Progress:   If the couple is adventurous and loves attention to details, then you might want to consider the photojournalism style of photography on your big day.  An increasingly popular style today, wedding photojournalism offers a fresh style of taking photos in the occasion. Characterized by candid shots of the subjects unaware of the moving camera, the photojournalism style lets the wedding party act freely to capture their true emotion. Click to continue »

Florists

Florists:

Florists

Word of mouth is always your safest bet when choosing a wedding florist. If the florist’s service and work come highly recommended, chances are they will do a good job for you. Do your research by going to bridal shows and looking at online pictures from each store’s web site and look around their shop. Try to answer the following questions:

  • Do you like the arrangements that you see in the shop’s displays?
Do the flowers in the pictures look fresh or are the petal edges brown?
Are the pictures dated or are they following the current trends?
Is the designer willing to work with you or are they telling you that your idea won’t work?
  • Make sure you speak to the florist that will do your arrangements.
  • Do you feel comfortable with your florist?
  • Is your florist paying attention to you while you’re talking and does he/she seem interested?

When To Book Your Florist
Six months before your wedding is a good time to start your search. Book your florist approximately four months before your wedding date. You need to have your reception and ceremony sites picked out before you can hire a florist because you’ll need to know how many arrangements you’ll need and that the colors you pick don’t clash with the colors of your venue. You’ll also need to know what color your bridesmaids’ dresses are.

Dj’s – Sound

Djs - Sound:

Some tips from BridalTips.com

Your wedding DJ determines whether your reception is a boom or bust…

Choosing your wedding DJ is the best part of your wedding preparations. You get to meet a lot of wedding industry people who are generally nice, outgoing, and personable. Of course the big debate is DJ or Band. That’s always one of the hard decisions a newlywed couple must make. The biggest advantage a wedding DJ has over a band is cost. There are some lousy bands out there and many awesome bands too, but many bands can cost a lot of money. I saw an excellent band at a function that charged $4000 for the 8 member group.
